The long arm of ELEC

Daily Record: "State Democrats are charged with spending the money on 'robocalls' made to the homes of registered Republicans in the last few days prior to the 2009 gubernatorial election. You may recall that those calls provoked controversy, because some perceived — correctly as it turned out — that Democrats were trying to convince Republicans to support Daggett rather than GOP candidate Chris Christie, who ended up winning with 49 percent of the vote in a three-person contest. Daggett, who did not consent to the calls, complained about the tactic."
